FACTS WHAT DOES BESSEMER SYSTEM FEDERAL CREDIT UNION DO WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Why? Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information. Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do.

How? All financial companies need to share members' personal information to run their everyday business. What we do
How does Bessemer System FCU protect my personal information? To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.
How does Bessemer System FCU collect my personal information? We collect your personal information, for example, when you
  • open an account or deposit money
  • pay your bills or apply for a loan
  • use your credit or debit card or make a wire transfer

Why can't I limit all sharing? Federal law gives you the right to limit only
  • sharing for affiliates' everyday business purposes information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State law and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.
What happens when I limit sharing for an account I hold jointly with someone else? Your choices will apply to everyone on your account - unless you tell us otherwise.
Definitions
Affiliates Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

Nonaffiliates Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

Joint marketing A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you such as Cuna Mutual Group.

Patriot Act Notice

To our account holders and potential account holders:

In accordance with Section 326 of the USA Patriot Act of 2001, which requires Bessemer System Federal Credit Union to help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Bessemer System Federal Credit Union is required to obtain basic identifying information from you and verify that information when you open a new account. This means the Bessemer System FCU staff will ask you for some basic information such as your name, address, date of birth, and other information designed to help us identify you. Bessemer System FCU staff will also ask to see documents identifying you such as a social security card, driver’s license, passport, and/or some other government-issued document. In some cases, identification will be requested for those individuals conducting business with Bessemer System FCU prior to the effective date of the member identification requirements. This is because original documentation was not obtained with the opening of the account or Bessemer System FCU is unable to form a reasonable belief that it knows the true identity of the existing account holder.


In all cases, protection of our member’s identity and confidentiality is the Credit Union’s pledge to you. Bessemer System FCU appreciates your patience and understanding as we all do our part in complying with the new account identification procedures required by the federal USA Patriot Act of 2001.
